I make no apologies; I was born to do this work.

As an arts educator, I believe in the transformative power of theatre and its ability to change lives…
More about my teaching work.
-
My teaching philosophy is simple. Everyone who engages in work with me will feel safe, welcome, and seen. This principle guides all of my work, and informs my pedagogical practices. Classroom culture is paramount to me. This means placing an emphasis on building community before we begin the “work.”
In instructional spaces, I encourage students to A.C.T. U.P. or Ask questions, Consider others, Take ownership of individual ideas and work, Use all resources/space available to them, and Play/Participate.
If I have inspired just one child to appreciate and/or pursue a life in the arts because of their time engaging with me, then I will have fulfilled my purpose on this planet. I believe that deeply.

I have led professional development workshops for Troy University, iTheatrics’ Junior Theater Festival, and in partnership with Montgomery Public Schools for teachers and theatre directors.

Always proud to speak about my work. Here’s a glimpse of me promoting ASF Education initiatives on the local news in Montgomery, AL.
As part of my work with Education programming for ASF, I collaborated with our Development team to piece together a social story and grant proposal for the Genesis Inspiration Foundation. Because of our compelling mission and proposal, we received $50,000 for future Educational programming.

As part of my role managing Education programs at Alabama Shakespeare Festival, I am responsible for curating content for teachers and students who attend ASF’s student matinee series. These guides support programming that reaches thousands of students across the southeast annually.
